Business Info
Destined Horizons is a Black woman-founded behavioral health organization led by Dr. Carmy Aristor that delivers culturally responsive mental health services, develops the next generation of helping professionals, and drives community-based impact initiatives that expand access to care.
The Destined Horizons Mental Health Practice is a multi-state practice providing outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families across Georgia, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. With a focus on trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, the practice also serves as a workforce development hub by offering supervision, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities for emerging clinicians, strengthening the pipeline of diverse mental health providers.
Beyond clinical care, Destined Horizons creates high impact educational resources for helping professionals. Signature programs such as Helping the Healers and Holding Space While Healing equip therapists, social workers, and service providers with tools to address burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. The Intentional Start Journal further supports mental wellness through guided reflection, mindfulness, and intentional living practices.
The nonprofit arm, Destined Horizons Foundation, is dedicated to supporting youth and young adults connected to the foster care system. The foundation provides programming that supports independent living, emotional resilience, and self-advocacy, while also training foster parents in trauma-informed care to better support children who have experienced complex trauma.
Through this integrated model, Destined Horizons is not only expanding access to quality mental health care but also strengthening communities, empowering professionals, and creating sustainable pathways toward healing and resilience.
